Recruiters: Learn How to Drive Success in All Economic Conditions
In a notoriously tough industry, the latest
Contracting Corner newsletter lays out a map to help recruiters and their talent
sourcing services succeed
despite the uncertain economy.
Published quarterly by contract staffing
back-office service Top Echelon Contracting, the Contracting Corner has been "The Perm
Recruiter's Contracting Resource" since 2006. It provides independent
recruiters with news, tips, and advice to help them establish and grow their
contact staffing services. In the electronic world of emailed newsletters, TEC
still believes in the merit of hard copy media. The hard copy version of the
newsletter is sent to over 12,000 independent recruiters.
Asking "Is Your Firm at the Mercy of the
Economy?" the latest edition focuses on how recruiters can take advantage
of the growth of contract staffing to drive success in all economic conditions.
"Recruiting is an industry that is often dependent
on the economy, and there is limited and conflicting information that
recruiters can use to plan for the future," said Top Echelon
Contracting President Debbie Fledderjohann. "If they are only
doing direct hire, many recruiting niches are truly tied to the economy.
Therefore, recruiting income can decrease dramatically. Contract staffing
provides steady, predictable income that can sustain them regardless of what is
happening on the direct hire side of their desks."
According to CareerBuilder, 42% of companies
planned to hire contractors in 2014, and contract staffing continues to grow
even as traditional hiring bounces back from the recession. The newsletter
discusses how this is a result of companies building blended workforce models
comprised of both direct hires and contractors. It also details some of the
factors that are responsible for this shift in employment. By being aware of
this shift, recruiters can drive their own success regardless of what is
happening in the economy. The newsletter illustrates how they can do so and how
much annual recruiter income they can expect to earn from adding contract
staffing to their business models.
"The best part is that, with the help of a
contract staffing back-office, any recruiter can add contract staffing without
any upfront financial investment, additional staff, or ramp-up time,"
Fledderjohann said.
